Portland State Athletics has had 54 student-athletes from its spring sports programs earn Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors. The league released the spring sports list today featuring men's and women's track and field, men's and women's tennis, softball and women's golf.
Â
Thirty members of the men's and women's track team earned honors, while there were eight from softball, seven from women's tennis, six from women's golf and three from men's tennis. Forty-seven of the 54 had GPAs of 3.50 or higher with five at a perfect 4.00.
Â
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution. For indoor track and field, the student-athlete is also eligible competition-wise by participating at the conference championship meet.
