Forward Renae Aschoff was a fixture on the national championship contending Portland State women’s basketball teams of the early 1990’s. During her years at Portland State, PSU went 88-29 and in 1992 took third place in the NCAA Division II tournament.

Following the 1993 season, she was named Pacific West Conference Player of the Year and was also an NCAA Division II honorable mention All-American. Aschoff, a two-time academic All-Conference and All-District honoree, finished her career ranked in PSU’s all-time top-ten in scoring, games played, games started, blocked shots, field goal attempts, field goals made, rebounds, field goal percentage, and is the all-time leader in free-throw percentage (.844). She also holds the season record for free-throw percentage (.882), which led the nation in 1993.

After graduating, Aschoff went on to play professionally in Australia and also became a trailblazing high basketball coach, leading a high school boys’ team to the Utah state tournament.
