Chris Crawford directed Portland State’s most successful Division II football teams as a quarterback. He led the Vikings to National Championship games in 1987 and 1988. Crawford was a Harlon Hill Award finalist in 1987 (third) and 1988 (second) and named first team All-American in 1988. He was named team captain, team Most Valuable Player and All-Western Football Conference both seasons. Crawford’s teams has the best records in school history, going 22-5-2 over those two seasons, 12-0 in WFC games. A team captain and leader, Crawford also had excellent numbers, throwing for 7,543 yards (third all-time at PSU) and 48 touchdowns (5th at PSU) in his career.
