SEATTLE, Wash. / EUGENE, Ore. - The men's tennis team covered a lot of ground this weekend in their matches, meeting Cal Poly in Seattle Friday and Idaho Saturday in Eugene. Though the Vikings fought hard in both matches, they were unable to claim victory in either and are in still in the hunt for their first win.
PSU's lone point in the weekend came from senior
Alex VanDerschelden, who opened the season 2-0 with the victory over the Mustangs Jordan Bridge. Bridge retired with injury after winning the first set 6-4 and carrying a 4-1 lead over VanDerschelden.
The Vikings will play matches Feb 4 and 6 next weekend, playing at Lewis& Clark and against Gonzaga in Vancouver, Wash., at Club Green Meadows.
