2010 SEASON:
Vastly improved tennis player ... Big Sky Honorable Mention pick ... Finished season with 9-5 overall record at No. 2 singles ... Led PSU in wins ... Named Big Sky Tennis Player March 4 after finishing weekend 3-1 overall and earning victories over Air Force and Northern Colorado in singles ... Started conference play with 4-0 register ... Finished conference play with 5-2 overall record.

2009 SEASON:
Finished season with 7-15 singles record at No. 2 singles ... Finished with 8-14 record in doubles, playing at Nos. 2 and 3 ... Finished Big Sky play with 1-7 record, winning only match against Northern Colorado (Feb. 6).

2008 SEASON:
Completed freshman campaign with a 6-16 record, playing primarily from the No. 1 position... picked up first win at the ITA Mountain Region Tournament, defeating Weber State's Travis Covington... won the Bellingham Tennis Club Holiday Open, defeating the tournament's two top-seeded players... defeated Nick Ruess of Linfield College to help the Vikings win their first dual... played most doubles matches with Jeff Cero and finished with a 9-10 record.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE:
Four-year tennis letterwinner and three-year wrestling letterwinner at Auburn Riverside High School... named player of the year as a junior and senior in tennis... three-time First Team All-Conference... participated in the state tournament all four years and placed fourth as a junior in singles.

PERSONAL:
Born December 19, 1988... son of Dale and Liz VanDerschelden... wants to own his own business after college... majoring in business.
