Aarjun Pandit and Maas Schotanus Land Vikings’ First All-Conference Honors Since 2021

FARMINGTON, Utah — Portland State men's tennis ended a five-year postseason award drought Wednesday, as Aarjun Pandit earned Second Team All-Big Sky singles honors and added an honorable mention doubles nod alongside partner Maas Schotanus.

The duo earned honorable mention honors despite teaming up for just the final five matches of the season—more than enough for the league's coaches to take notice. Pandit, a freshman, and Schotanus, a sophomore, played four matches at No. 1, posting a 2-0 record while the other two went unfinished. With 6-4 wins over Idaho and Idaho State, the pair helped the Vikings secure the doubles point in both matches.

Pandit becomes the first freshman in program history to earn All-Big Sky singles honors after earlier this season becoming the first-ever Viking freshman named Big Sky Player of the Week. The Gurgaon, India native posted a 7-7 singles record in his first collegiate dual season, including a 3-4 mark against conference opponents. At No. 1, Pandit went 7-5, with his .583 win percentage ranking fifth in program history for a single season among players with at least 10 matches at the position.

Prior to Wednesday's awards, the Vikings hadn't earned an all-conference honor since 2021, when they had five selections. Head coach Vetu Mam led his young squad to six wins in 2026, posting a 2-5 conference record and finishing one win shy of a Big Sky Tournament berth.
