FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Looking for its second-consecutive Big Sky win, the Portland State men's tennis team squared off with Northern Arizona. Though the Vikings fought hard with the Lumberjacks, they fell 7-0 and are now 1-3 in Big Sky play.

Only sophomore Mitch Somach and senior Alex VanDerschelden at No. 2 doubles took a victory over the Jacks David Flodberg and and Robin Pezzutto, 8-5. Roman Margoulis and Chris Rice nearly clinched a doubles point for the Viks but fell 9-7.

In singles play, only VanDerschelden was able to take his match to three sets. The Lake Tapps, Wash., native won the first set 6-4, but would fall 6-4 and 6-3 in the second and third, respectively.

The Vikings return to action April 2 for a showdown with crosstown rival Portland at Lousiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
