PORTLAND, Ore. - With a couple extra days to prepare for the weekend's matches, the 4-4-0 Portland State Vikings will send their wagons East to Gonzaga and Idaho for a pair matinees on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively. It will be the 13th meeting with the Zags and the seventh with the Vandals.

VIKINGS AND THE BULLDOGS
Portland State Trails, 2-8-2
Last season, the Vikings defeated the Zags for the first-time in 14 years, after senior Kat Robertson put away the game-winner with a header on a long ball from Tish (Parsons) Wise in the 40th minute. Portland State would take the match 2-1 at PCC-Rock Creek and record the programs second winning record during the non-conference season. The series dates back to 1994, PSU's second season of existence, and is the Vikings most-played non-conference opponent.

VIKINGS AND THE VANDALS
Portland State Trails, 2-4-0
The Vandals snuck past the Vikings, 2-0, last time the two programs played each other in 2007. Portland State last defeated Idaho back in 2003 at Delta Park, 3-1. The two teams first met in 1998, Idaho's first season fielding a team and the Vikings emerged victorious, 2-1. Head Coach Pete Showler was an assistant at Portland State under Tara Erickson in 2003 and '04. Assistant coaches Katie Schoene (2003-06) and Niki Brooks (2002-05) both played at PSU.

WEEKEND RECAP
The Vikings split their weekend with UC Riverside and San Diego down in the Golden State. Portland State downed the Highlanders 3-0 off a two-goal performance by
Kala Renard.
Frankie Ross scored a goal and an assist in the match against Riverside.
However, against San Diego, it was a tale of two teams for the Viks. PSU was down 4-0 at the half and did not register a shot in that half, the first time since Aug. 30, 2008 against then-No. 1 USC. The Toreros went up 5-0, until a penalty kick was awarded to the Vikings in the 74th minute. Junior
Amanda Howie converted for the goal to smear USD's clean sheet, 5-1.
ABOUT GONZAGA
The Zags own a 3-5-1 record and are coming off two-straight losses, most recently to Idaho, 1-0, Sept. 17. Gonzaga last won Sept. 10 versus Colorado, 2-0, at their own GU Tournament. The Bulldogs have played one Big Sky opponent this season, Montana, and eaked by the Lady Griz, 3-2, Aug. 29.
Sarah Rhodes has been the go to scorer for the Bulldogs, accounting for four goals and an assist. Ashley Riley is the second-leading scorer with three goals. In net, Lauren Ames has a 1.84 goals against average and a save percentage of .653 in 830 minutes.
ABOUT IDAHO
The Vandals are currently riding a six-match winning streak and are 7-2-0 overall. Thus far, Idaho is 3-0-0 against Big Sky foes and defeated Eastern Washington Tuesday night in Spokane, 1-0. Earlier this month, Idaho defeated Idaho State in Governers Cup, 2-1.
Chelsea Smalls leads the team in scoring with five goals and an assist for 11 points. In the firsyt half of games this season, the Vandals have outscored their opponetns, 10-5. However, U of I trails its opponents in corner kicks, 38-26.
WINNING AND WINNING RIGHT
In their four wins this season, Portland State has scored three goals and has outscored its opponents 12-2 in those wins.
The 2002 women's soccer team, who scored 45 goals in a season (school-record), scored three or more goals five-times during their season.
ROSS IS BOSS
With her goal and assist last Friday night, senior
Frankie Ross moved up the school's all-time points and assists list. She started the season tied for 10th in both categories and recently passed former-Viking great Dolly Enneking in assists. Listed below is where she stands in the Portland State record book.

GOING FOR THE RECORD
As stated before, the 2002 women's soccer team owns the school record for most goals scored in a season at 45.
After eight matches, the 2002 team scored 16 goals (2.05 goals/game). This year's team currently has 14 (1.75 goals/game).
SPREADING THE WEALTH
In the Vikings eight games this season, nine different players have scored goals for PSU, while 15 different players have registered points (either a goal, an assist or both) on the 28 women roster.
Melissa Trammell leads the team in goals with three, while
Amanda Dutra and
Frankie Ross lead the team with two assists. Both Dutra and Ross were second-team All-Big Sky selections a year ago.
ONCE, TWICE, THREE TIMES THE SCORING
For the first time against a pair of Division I opponents, the women's soccer team scored three goals in back-to-back games Aug. 27 and 29 against ULM and Albany.
The Viks last accomplished the feat Oct. 10 and 12, 1999 against Gonzaga, (L, 3-5) and Western Baptist, now Corban, (W, 5-1).
SCHOTT FOR THE STARS
Head Coach
Laura Schott, reigning co-Big Sky Coach of the Year, passed predecessor Tim Bennett Aug. 29 on the Portland State all-time wins chart. She is now third all-time with 19 wins. Schott surpassed Bennett's 16 with her victory over Albany. Former coaches Bernie Fagen and Tara Erickson tie for first with 29 wins each.
