Portland State Athletics had 39 student-athletes recognized as Academic All-Big Sky Conference honorees for winter sports as released by the league today. Among winter sports teams, the women's indoor track team had a 3.56 GPA, followed by the Big Sky Conference Champion Men's Basketball team at 3.42. Women's Basketball had a 3.27 GPA and Men's Indoor Track was at 3.22.

The Vikings excelled academically overall with every athletics program compiling a 3.2 team GPA or higher. PSU's overall student-athlete GPA was 3.45. The Women's Golf team led the way with a 3.88 GPA. Men's Tennis followed with a 3.84 GPA and Football had a record 3.36 GPA for the term. A total of 59 students had perfect 4.0 GPAs.

To be eligible for academic All-Big Sky Conference honors for fall sports, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution. For cross country student-athletes, they must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions or competed at the conference championship.Â
