SEATTLE, Wash. — The Portland State men's tennis team faced a tough Washington Huskies squad Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 in a dual played to the clinch at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

The Huskies (5-4) secured the doubles point and never trailed after that.

The 63rd-ranked duo of Brett Pearson and Soham Purohit defeated Edoardo Cravanzola and Maas Schotanus on court one 6-3, but the Vikings evened the doubles score when Luca Prino and Luke Lu topped Rohan Belday and Hyeonseok Seo 6-4 at line three. The point came down to court two, where Aarjun Pandit and Ignacio Ruiz — who had lost just once together this season — were edged 7-5 by Stephane Kamendje and Nikola Plavsic, giving Washington the early advantage.

The Huskies clinched the dual with singles victories at lines three, four and five.

Portland State returns to action Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting Lewis–Clark State College in its final match before the Big Sky opener. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
