PORTLAND, Ore. – After opening the season with three road matches, the Portland State men's tennis team will begin its 2026 home schedule on Saturday, Jan. 31, hosting George Fox at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
The Vikings are searching for their first win of the season following a challenging opening stretch that included two matches against Oregon and a road dual at Portland last weekend.
Those early contests provided valuable experience for a young Portland State lineup. Freshmen Aarjun Pandit and Ignacio Ruiz held two of the top three singles positions in all three matches, while sophomore Maas Schotanus made an immediate impact in his first match as a Viking. The Netherlands native went 2-0 in the opener at Oregon, earning a No. 2 doubles win alongside Edoardo Cravanzola and securing Portland State's first singles victory of the season with a straight-set 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 3 over UO's Matthew Burton.
The Vikings will take on the Bruins for the fifth consecutive season on Saturday, aiming to add to their 7-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Vikings earned a 5-2 victory in last year's matchup.Â
