Vikings Men’s Tennis Signs Italian Pair, Edoardo Cravanzola and Luca Prino

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State men's tennis program has added to its 2024-25 roster with the signings of incoming freshmen Edoardo Cravanzola and Luca Prino, Viking Head Coach Vetu Mam announced this week.

The duo, both natives of Italy, will join the Vikings this fall, helping to fill the void left by four graduating seniors from the Vikings' 2024 spring roster.

"It's tough to say goodbye to such a great and enjoyable senior class, but I am excited to add Luca and Edoardo to the men's tennis program," Mam said. "We've built such a good connection with players from Italy in the past with Matteo Fortini and now Andrea Brignacca, so it feels right adding these two up-and-comers. They not only bring a lot of talent on the court, but academically they excel as well. They checked all of the boxes that you want in a student-athlete and they are excited to get to Portland and compete. I am looking forward to seeing what these two can do for us next year."

Prino, from Piobesi d'Alba, will graduate from Istituto Lorenzo Valla in 2024. His ITF Juniors career-high ranking is 1083, having reached the semifinals in both J60 and J100 tournaments. Hailing from Bra, Italy, Cravanzola will graduate from Liceo Giolitti-Gandino in 2024 and holds a Federazione Italiana Tennis (FIT) ranking of 2.8/2.5.
