PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State women's soccer team returns home this week to continue Big Sky action, hosting Weber State on Friday, Oct. 4, followed by Idaho State on Sunday, Oct. 6. Both matches are set for 1:05 p.m. kickoffs at Hillsboro Stadium.
Admission to Hillsboro Stadium is free for all fans and students. The first 100 fans to arrive at Sunday's game against Idaho State will receive free Thundersticks. For those unable to attend, both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and live stats will also be available (links below).

WILDCAT NOTES:Â Weber State is off to a 1-8-4 start this season, with their only non-conference victory coming in a 4-2 win at North Dakota State on Sept. 12. Since then, they've gone 0-3-1. The Wildcats opened Big Sky play last week at home against Northern Colorado, suffering a 3-1 defeat to start conference play at 0-1-0. They are 1-6-1 on the road this year as they prepare to face the Vikings on Friday and Sacramento State on Sunday. Junior forward Ali Swensen leads the attack with five goals this season, accounting for over a third of her team's 13 goals. The Wildcats rank ninth in the conference in shots per game (9.38) and fourth in points per game, averaging 2.46 heading into the weekend

BENGAL NOTES:Â Idaho State posted a 1-4-4 record in non-conference play, earning their only win in a 1-0 victory at the University of Denver on Aug. 18. The Bengals opened Big Sky action against Northern Colorado last week, securing a 1-0 win in Pocatello. Idaho State has recorded an impressive five shutouts this season, including three scoreless ties during non-conference play. Despite only scoring seven goals in ten matches, they've had five different goal scorers. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Trinity Hale has started all ten games, tied for first in the conference with five shutouts, and ranks third in goals-against average (1.16) across 855 minutes. The Bengals will face Sacramento State on Friday before traveling to Portland on Sunday.
VIKINGS' LAST TIME OUT - VS. EASTERN WASHINGTON / IDAHO
The Vikings went 0-1-1 on their opening weekend of Big Sky play, battling Eastern Washington to a 1-1 draw on Friday before falling 3-0 at Idaho on Sunday. On Friday, the Eagles struck first in the 77th minute with a penalty kick, but
Elle Frazier quickly responded, netting the equalizer for Portland State less than three minutes later to secure a conference-opening tie. Sunday told a different story, as the Vikings were unable to overcome a first-half deficit, despite outshooting the Vandals 14-10 in the contest.Â

- Cunningham totaled a season-high nine saves against Hawai'i, holding the Rainbow Wahine scoreless for 81 minutes despite facing 25 shots
- Millan (.795) ranks fourth and Cunningham (.788) ranks fifth in the Big Sky in save percentage. Cunningham also ranks sixth in goals against average (1.56), followed closely by Millan in seventh place (1.64).
- In 2023, the duo played a key role in the Vikings' four shutouts, with each contributing to two of them. Cunningham led the Vikings last season with 58 saves, recording a 6-5-1 record and a 1.39 goals-against average

- Abi Hoffman scored consecutive goals in the second half against South Dakota (9/8), igniting the Vikings' thrilling comeback (51st and 69th minutes)

She tallied 18 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 2023 which ranked second in the Big Sky, while her four assists during BSC play led the conference. She also compiled a team-high 48 shots, putting 20 on target.Â
- Fellow senior Lucy Quinn, a 2022 Honorable Mention All-Big Sky midfielder joins Hoffman in the midfield this season. Quinn has started 46 of her last 47 matches and recorded three goals with two assists over the past three seasons.
- Fifth-year senior Sydney Watson rounds out the experienced group after starting all 18 matches last season, logging 1,424 minutes of action in the midfield. So far, Watson has played all but 11 minutes in 2024.
