Box Score SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Portland State men's tennis team dropped its season opener 7-0 to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
 
The Vikings fell to 0-1 while the Gauchos advanced to 5-0 on the year.
 
UC Santa Barbara took the opening point after grabbing two doubles wins. They continued their momentum into singles play, clinching all six matches. Andrea Brignacca gave himself a chance against Pablo Masjuan at No. 1 singles before eventually falling 6-4, 6-3.
 
Portland State will return to action tomorrow in Santa Barbara against Grand Canyon (10 am).
