PORTLAND, Ore. – Following its best start to conference action since 2013, the Portland State women's soccer team will look to stay undefeated in Big Sky play as they host Sacramento State this Sunday, Oct. 2 at Hillsboro Stadium.
Admission to Sunday's match is free for fans. The match will air on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
The Vikings had a stellar start to Big Sky action last weekend, earning wins over preseason favorite Northern Colorado and defending Big Sky tournament champion, Montana .PSU hadn't beaten either program since 2016. On Friday, the Vikings shut out UNC on the road, using a 78th minute goal from
Olivia Stone to secure the 1-0 victory. The win in Greeley marked the Viking's first Division I road win since 2019. The Vikings returned home on Sunday to play Montana, posting a second-straight 1-0 shutout win.
Sidney O'billovich recorded a season-high seven saves, while
Raniyah Burton netted her first goal of the season in the 27th minute.
BIG SKY STANDINGS
The Vikings were one of three teams to earn two wins during Big Sky opening weekend. Idaho and Eastern Washington sit atop the poll alongside PSU at 2-0, while Montana and Sacramento State sit 1-1. Northern Colorado, Idaho State and Weber State are 0-2 after week one.

- Six freshmen have started at least one match for the Vikings this season
- Starting all eleven matches so far, Freshmen forward Elle Frazier ranks third on the team in minutes played (831)
- Frazier has scored two goals this season; her first career goal came against UC Riverside (Aug 25), before netting her second at New Mexico on Aug 1
- Freshmen forward Ocean Rideout has also played a key role in the Viking's attack, netting her first career goal against Western Oregon on Aug 21
- Defensively, freshmen Leah Heugly and Kalo Iongi both clocked over 600 minutes during non-conference action

After splitting the first nine matches in goal for the Vikings, junior goalkeeper
Sidney O'billovich posted back-to-back shutouts in her first two full matches of the season. The Portland, Ore. tallied a season-high seven saves against Montana on Sunday. This Sunday will be her second career start against the Hornets after allowing two goals and recording five saves in the Viking's 4-2 win over Sacramento State last season.
