PORTLAND –  The Portland State women's soccer team will continue its non-conference schedule this Sunday against Boise State at Hillsboro Stadium (1 PM).

The Vikings look to improve upon a 1-2-0 record after falling 7-0 to Gonzaga this past Sunday.  
 

LAST TIME OUT

PSU recorded six shots in its loss against the Bulldogs. The Vikings had a strong defensive start, holding GU to just a single goal in the opening 44 minutes of action. Gonzaga clinched the win with six goals in the closing 46 minutes, finishing with 29 shots in the match. 

OFFENSIVE LEADERS

Both of the Viking's goals this season have involved sophomore Ani Jensen. She leads the group with three points after recording both a goal and an assist against Western Oregon on Aug 27. Freshman Abi Hoffman has also played a crucial role for the Viking offense as she heads into Sunday with a team-high six shots and three shots on goal.

DEFENSIVE LEADERS

Viking defender Liz Hansen has piloted the defensive efforts so far this season. The fifth-year senior has clocked 262 total minutes, missing just eight minutes of action through three contests. Starting goalkeeper Enya Hernandez has racked up 23 saves for a save percentage of .719 in the opening three matches. The Junior tied her career-high of eleven saves against Gonzaga this past Sunday.

BOISE STATE BRONCOS 

The Broncos are a perfect 3-0 this season. They will take on UC Davis on Thursday before arriving in Portland this weekend. Boise State has turned in victories over Utah (1-0) and Dixie State (4-0) along with a 1-0 double-overtime win over Pacific (Calif.).

Six different Broncos have scored a goal through three games while goalkeepers Sydney Smith and Genevieve Crenshaw have combined for three consecutive shutouts.

The Vikings trail the all-time series 10-1-2. The Broncos shut out PSU 2-0 in the last meeting in 2019.
