Box Score PORTLAND – The Portland State men's tennis team capped off a solid week of play with a 7-0 victory over Lewis and Clark College on Sunday at the Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.

The Vikings improve to .500 (3-3) on the season, after winning three consecutive dual matches. Lewis and Clark beings its 2021 campaign 0-1 following the loss.

Portland State came out strong, proving to be too much to handle for the Pioneers in doubles action. No. 1 duo
Matteo Fortini and
Tommy Edwards defeated Ramaz Attia and Shane Lynette 6-2. On court two
Tommy Hsu and
Nils Plutat earned their third win of the week, taking down their Pioneer opponents 6-2. In a back-and-forth match at the No.3 spot, Vikings'
Nikola Dimitrijevic and
Bryan Husin were able to hold off Daniel Lane and Miles Stone, clinching a 6-4 victory.

Edwards, who has spent the season playing in the No. 2 spot behind Fortini, saw action at No. 1 singles for the first time this season. The senior took care of business defeating Attia (6-2, 6-1), marking the third No. 1 singles win of his career.

Bryan Husin kept momentum on the Vikings side at court five with a shutout victory over Lane 6-0, 6-0.

The rest of the PSU lineup followed, securing wins across the board to complete the sweep of the Pioneers.

The Vikings will travel to Gonzaga University next Friday (Feb. 26) to take on the Bulldogs in another non-conference dual.
