SEATTLE – The Portland State men's tennis team completed its fall schedule on Sunday as the Vikings tallied seven total wins at the Husky Invitational over the three day tournament.
 
Competing against Washington, UC Davis, and Eastern Washington, the Vikings finished with four singles victories and three doubles as the team battled through injuries and sickness all weekend.
 
Matteo Fortini led the Vikings on the weekend, defeating Eastern Washington's Manuel Balce in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 in the final day of the tournament. Fortini was also a part of two doubles victories as he teamed with Ryan Nakajima to defeat a duo from UC Davis 8-5, and a duo from Washington 8-5.
 
Nikola Dimitrijevic opened the tournament up with a win on day one, coming from behind to defeat Brett Brinkman from UC Davis 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. On day two, Sahal Bukary picked up his first win of the season, defeating Wout Doumen of Eastern Washington 6-4 and 7-6, winning the tiebreaker 7-4.
 
Also earning a victory on the final day was Otto Holtari who earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Doumen. Holtari also teamed up with Majeed Bukhari in doubles, winning 8-2 over a duo from Eastern Washington.
 
Portland State will take a long break before opening the spring season on January 11 as they travel for a dual meet at Oregon.
