THE OPENING TIPThe annual cross-town rivalry game comes to the Stott Center this Wednesday as the Portland State Vikings host the University of Portland Pilots in a 7:05 p.m. contest.
Portland State of the Big Sky Conference goes into the game at 3-2 on the season and will try to stop a four-game losing streak to the Pilots. UP of the West Coast Conference is 3-4 overall and leads the all-time series with the Vikings.
It should be an exciting contest as both teams have proven they can score this season. PSU averages 85.8 points per game to lead the Big Sky Conference and is shooting .506 from the field as a team. GR F
Cameron Forte is averaging 22.4 points per game to lead the Big Sky. Meanwhile, Portland averages 80.6 points and is hitting 11.8 three-point field goals per game.
The Vikings and Pilots have had no common opponents this season.

COMING UPThe Vikings will play two road games over the next two weeks. PSU travels to Washington State for a Sunday afternoon game at 1 p.m. That contest will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. After that, the Vikings play a game at Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Dec. 12. That game is televised on Fox Sports Midwest at 2 p.m. PT.
GAME NOTES: PORTLAND STATE vs. PORTLAND
• ALL-TIME SERIES: Portland leads the all-time series, 35-17. The Pilots have won the last four meetings, including the last two at the Stott Center... the Pilots lead the series 11-7 since Portland State reinstated its program and joined the Big Sky Conference in 1996-97.
• LAST SEASON: PORTLAND 83, PORTLAND STATE 71: The Pilots won their fourth straight in the series in a decisive win at the Chiles Center. Portland point guard Alec Wintering scored a game-high 27 points with six assists... PSU shot only .257 in the first half to fall behind 41-24 and could never catch up... UP shot 50%, the Vikings shot 40%, and the Pilots won the battle on the glass, 44-27.

Tyler Geving (87-101, 7th season) is 1-4 all-time against the Pilots. He has a 4-8 record all-time against members of the West Coast Conference. Pilots Head Coach Eric Reveno (131-162, 10th season) is 4-4 all-time against the Vikings.
• VIKINGS VS. WEST COAST CONFERENCE: Portland State is 33-69 all-time against current members of the West Coast Conference. Portland is Portland State's only WCC opponent this year.
PORTLAND PILOTS• The University of Portland was 17-16 last season, 7-11 and tied for sixth in the West Coast Conference.

Collin Spickerman set a PSU record for blocked shots per game (2.48) last season while leading the Big Sky Conference. Spickerman has 11 blocks this season and 83 blocks in 34 career games, ranking fourth in PSU history.
• Spickerman blocked four shots and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds in the season opener at Grand Canyon (11/13).
• Spickerman scored a career-high 13 points in the win at UTRGV (11/22).

Calaen Robinson is starting to hit his stride. In the last two games he has combined for 26 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds.

• He leads the team in three-point field goals (12), three-point percentage (.444), assists (4.4) and steals (7).

Isaiah Pineiro put up back-to-back double-doubles on the road last week, getting 24 points and 14 rebounds at UTRGV and 13 points and 11 rebounds at Nevada.
