PORTLAND, Ore. — What's the word for alley-oop in Swedish? According to Google Translate, it appears to be gränd-oop. Well, we know two people who will need to learn that after former Portland State men's basketball player Tre-Vaughn Minott signed Monday with the same Köping Stars team that former PSU teammate Jaylin Henderson signed with back in mid-August.
 
This will be Minott's second professional contract since leaving the Vikings after he signed with BC Šiauliai in Lithuania back in April.
 
Minott entered the professional ranks after earning the second of back-to-back Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year honors this past season. Minott anchored the Viking defense as he helped lead the Vikings to their first conference regular-season title in 18 years. He averaged career bests for points (9.9) and rebounds (8.8) per game this season while shooting 65.6 percent the field. That number increased to 73.0 percent in league games.
 
Minott, who was also an All-Big Sky Second-Team selection this past season, finished his Portland State career ranked second all-time in career field goal percentage (.648) and sixth in blocked shots (96). He had 14 double-doubles in his Viking career, eight of which came this past season when he led the Big Sky Conference in the category.
 
The Köping Stars will play their first game on Sept. 24 against BC Luleå. If it airs internationally, we know what city in the United States will have the highest ratings.
