PORTLAND, Ore. — The best basketball value in Portland just dropped for fans of the Portland State men's and women's basketball teams. Season and single-game tickets starting as low as $9 for the women and $12 for the men are on sale now via the Portland State University Box Office.
 
Season tickets start at $79 for the Portland State women's basketball team's 16 home games. That's a value of less than $5 a ticket. Season tickets for the Portland State men, meanwhile, start at $99 for 14 home games – a value of just over $7 a ticket.
 
The Viking men celebrated their first conference title in 17 seasons at home last March. Fans saw them cut down the nets after an 84-60 win over Weber State. The Vikings figure to have reloaded with 12 newcomers this season. That group features five international signees and seven domestic transfers including the former Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year Koren Johnson.
 
The Viking women, meanwhile, expect to rise up the Big Sky standings this season in their second year under head coach Karlie Burris. The Vikings returned leading scorer Kyleigh Brown as well as three-year letterwinner and two-year starter Laynee Torres-Kahapea off last year's team. They added 10 newcomers to that mix between three transfers and seven freshmen. The transfer group includes Teagan Colvin, the No. 81-ranked high school recruit by ESPN in 2024, who played her first two years at UNLV. The Vikings also added Sara Barhoum, who played her freshman season at Oregon after setting the OSAA state career record for three-pointers while competing for Clackamas High School.
 
The Portland State women will play a home exhibition against Warner Pacific on Oc. 27 before officially starting their season Nov. 2 at home against Pepperdine. The men will open their season the next day against Lewis & Clark on Nov. 3.
