RENO, Nev. – The Portland State men's tennis team dropped the first of three duals in three days Saturday afternoon to the Aggies of New Mexico State by a score of 7-0 in Reno, Nev.
 
The Aggies (6-14 overall) took the doubles point by sweeping the Vikings in by scores of 8-4 in each of the three doubles matches.
 
The Vikings (2-14) had to shuffle around both the doubles and singles lineups because of the absence of Abhinav Mishra who had to return to his native country of India for family reason.
 
With Mishra out of the lineup, Nate Chart participated in just his fourth singles and third doubles matches of the season. Chart fell at the No. 6 position for the Vikings but played some of his best tennis of the year according to head coach Jay Sterling.
 
Zach Lubek fell at the No. 3 singles position so start singles play for the Vikings. He fell by scores of 6-1 and 6-1 before Mitch Somach fell in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-3.

Somach's loss brought the dual score to 3-0 in favor of the Aggies who then clinched the dual at the No. 1 singles position after Roman Margoulis fell by scores of 6-2 and 6-3.
 
Alec Marx, Nick Fracchia and Chart all fell by scores of 6-0 and 6-0 to round out the dual for the Vikings.
 
The Vikings now take on Nevada on Sunday and then travel to Sacramento, Calif. to take on Sacramento State on Monday. The Vikings will then return home for their season finale against Northern Arizona on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
