VANCOURVER, Wash. – The Portland State men's tennis team picked up its second win of the season Sunday afternoon when it took care of George Fox University at Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Wash., by a score of 7-0.
 
The Vikings opened the dual by sweeping the doubles matches. Roman Margoulis and Abhinav Mishra opened doubles play with a quick 8-1 victory. Mitch Somach and Alec Marx quickly followed with a victory by the score of 8-5 securing the doubles point for the Vikings for the first time this season.
 
Zach Lubek and Nick Fracchia made it a clean sweep for the Vikings by taking care of their doubles match by a score of 8-5.
 
The Vikings only needed three singles wins to take the dual but they would get more than that as they would sweep all singles matches.
 
Marx made quick work of his match with scores of 6-0 and 6-1 as did Lubek with scores of 6-2 and 6-2 to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead in the dual. Lubek's win marked the first singles win for him on the year.
 
Margoulis clinched the Vikings' second dual win of the season with a straight set victory by scores of 6-3 and 6-4 for his fourth win of the season.
 
Somach picked up his fourth win of the season in straight sets. He won the first set by a score of 7-6 after winning a tiebreaker 7-0. He then went on to win the second set by a score of 6-2.
 
Mishra too won his first set by a score of 7-6 after winning his tiebreaker by a score of 7-2. He then won the second set by a score of 6-2 for his third win of the season.
 
Fracchia finished the sweep, as the Vikings' No. 6, winning in straight sets by scores of 6-1 and 6-1 picking up his third win of the season.
 
The Vikings now head to Bozeman, Mont. where they will take on Montana State Billings on Saturday, March 3 and then conference foe Montana State on Sunday, March 4.
