MISSOULA, Mont. –  Two second half goals by junior Megan Martin helps the Vikings (6-6-1 overall, 2-0-1 Big Sky) play the Montana Grizzlies (4-8-2, 1-1-1) to a 2-2 double-overtime draw Sunday morning in a cold wet affair at South Campus Stadium.

“Today we had a great comeback and almost came away with the go-ahead goal,”  head coach Laura Schott said following the match. “Playing Eastern Washington and Montana on the road is always a challenge. Starting conference play with three road games and coming out with two wins and a tie is a great start.”

The Vikings fell behind 2-0 in the first half on a 22nd minute goal and a 43rd minute goal by the Grizzlies taking advantage of the home field advantage.

Martin, the reigning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week, scored her fifth goal of the season on a put-back goal after freshman Daniela Solis blasted a shot off the crossbar. Martin then knocked the ball in to cut Montana's lead in half at 2-1.

One minute and 30 seconds later, Martin brought the game even with her sixth of the season and second of the match from seven yards out inside the left post following a feed from Kelsey Henningsen.

Portland State out-shot Montana 18-to-12 in the match and 11-to-4 over the second half and the two overtime periods. Martin was 2-for-3 in shots on goal in the match accounting for her two goals. Senior Kala Renard, who scored the game-winning goal against Eastern Washington Friday night, had a game high four shots, three of which were on goal.

Lianey Hulsizer started in goal for the Vikings and played the first half giving up two goals and recording three saves. Melissa Ferguson played the second half and both overtime periods and faced only one shot on goal which she saved.

The Vikings now return home for a three-game home stand starting next Friday when they host Northern Colorado for a 5 p.m. kick at Hillsboro Stadium. Next Sunday's match against Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. will be senior day honoring the Vikings' six seniors.

Notes: The Vikings are now 1-1-1 in overtime matches this season … Toni Carnovale was the only Viking to play all 110 minutes.
