The Portland State Women's Golf Team was selected to finish ninth in the Big Sky Conference Preseason Poll released today by the league.
Perennial favorite Sacramento State was picked for the top spot once again in 2025-26 in polling of league coaches. The Hornets have won the last three Big Sky titles. Northern Arizona was picked second followed by Montana State in third.
The Vikings are coming off a season in which they placed eighth in the Big Sky and expect to have a stronger and deeper roster. PSU lost just one letterwinner and has three newcomers to the team.
Fourth-year players
Bayler Brundage (77.86) and
Payten Shimizu (77.09) return as do third-year players
Cynthia Valerie Ong (77.00) and
Momo Udom (79.09). Sophomore transfer
Maddie Dustin, who played at Hawai'i last season, and freshmen
Caithlyn Ong and
Francesca Tomp, a four-time Oregon 5A state champion, round out the roster.
The Vikings begin practice in early September and have four events scheduled in the fall. They open at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate, hosted by Montana State, Sept. 15-16 in Bozeman.
