CHENEY, Wash. – The Portland State men's tennis team dropped its final match of the weekend, falling 6-1 to Eastern Washington on Sunday afternoon.

The loss moved the Vikings to 4-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while the Eagles improved to 4-10 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky action.

Eastern Washington secured the opening point with back-to-back 6-2 wins in doubles play.

Simon Kuszynski earned the Vikings' lone singles victory, picking up his eighth win of the season at the No. 6 spot with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Brady Thomas. Andrin Zuellig and Luca Prino both took their Eagle opponents to a third set but ultimately came up short. Prino battled Tyler Waddock at the No. 1 spot before falling 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (3). At line four, Zuellig dropped a hard-fought match to Caden Kammerer, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

The Vikings return to action next Saturday, March 15, against the University of Portland at 10:00 a.m.
