Box Score MISSOULA, Mont. – The Portland State men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat to Montana on Saturday at PEAK Racquet Club.
With the loss, the Vikings dropped to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play, while Montana improved to 13-5 and 3-1 in the Big Sky standings.
Portland State's only win of the day came in doubles action, where Hayden Elliott and Hubert Theriault triumphed over Duncan McCall and Johnny Wilkinson 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. However, Montana claimed the opening point with victories at courts one and three.
The Grizzlies went on to outplay the Vikings in singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets to seal the victory.
The Vikings will be back in action on Sunday, March 30, as they head to Bozeman to take on Montana State at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM MT at the Bobcat Anderson Tennis Center.
