Box Score BEAVERTON, Ore. – The Portland State men's tennis team dominated its weekend opener, sweeping Lewis & Clark 7-0 at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
With the win, the Vikings improved to 2-4 overall, while the match counted as an exhibition for the Pioneers.
Portland State claimed the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Andrin Zuellig and Simon Kuszynski cruised to a 6-2 win over Noah Sutin and Joey Lyon, while Hayden Elliott and Edoardo Cravanzola matched the scoreline with a 6-2 victory against Matt Chio and Spencer Loucks.
The Vikings carried that momentum into singles play, dominating across the board. Luca Prino set the tone with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1, while Cravanzola followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Theriault delivered another commanding performance at No. 3, winning 6-1, 6-1. Kuszynski earned his third singles win of the season at No. 6, rolling to a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Elliott secured a straight-set win at No. 5 (6-2, 5-7), and Zuellig capped off the sweep with a 6-3, 0-6, (6) tiebreak win.
The Vikings return to action tomorrow, opening Big Sky play against Sacramento State at 10 a.m. at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
