Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. - The Portland State men's tennis team opened its season on Saturday, falling to Washington 4-0 at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
The win marked the second of the day for the Huskies, who defeated Seattle U earlier in the day.
Washington opened with back-to-back doubles wins to secure the first point of the match. They continued their momentum into singles play, notching victories at lines two, four, and five to seal the deal. Viking junior Simon Kuszynski's match went unfinished, but he held a 1-0 lead on court six after winning the opening set, 6-4.
The Vikings will return to action next weekend with a pair of matches to open their 2025 home slate. They'll host Puget Sound on Saturday, Jan. 25, followed by Utah State on Sunday, Jan. 26. Both matches are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
