Porter Leads Vikings With 74 In First Round Of Eagles Invitational

Worley, ID - Portland State Women's Golf saw a second round of play eliminated from its fall season in the space of a week. The first round of the Eagle Invitational at Circling Raven Golf Club was canceled on Sunday morning due to a bad pin placement on hole number 10. The tournament resumed in the afternoon and will now become a 36-hole event. That comes after having the third round of last week's Kelsey Chugg Invitational rained out.

When the Vikings finally did play on Sunday afternoon they shot a team total of 317 and are in 12th place among 13 teams. The final round of the tournament takes place on Monday morning.

Senior Tannica Porter shot a two-over par 74 to lead PSU on day one. She is currently tied for 17th place among 79 players.

Junior Payten Shimizu posted an 80, followed by 81 from Momo Udom and 82 from Bayler Brundage.

Portland State is playing with four individuals in the tournament as Cynthia Valerie Ong is sitting out with a minor injury, and newcomer Avery Kageyama is not available to play yet.

CSUN leads after round one with a team total of two-under par 286. Weber State is in second place at two-over par 290, while Seattle shot 291.

Ariya Soldwisch of CSUN is in first place on the individual leaderboard with a three-under par 69. Four players are tied at 70.

The final round will be played on Monday morning. A shotgun start takes place at 10 a.m.
