The Big Sky Conference released the Academic All-Conference list for 2023-24 winter sports and Portland State had 24 student-athletes earn honors. The sports included men's and women's basketball and men's and women's indoor track and field.
The men's indoor track team had 10 members named to Academic All-Big Sky, while six members of the women's team earned honors. There were five Academic All-Big Sky selections for women's basketball and three for men's basketball.
Through the fall and winter seasons, PSU has had a total of 78 Academic All-Big Sky Conference honorees. The overall student-athlete grade point average for Viking student-athletes during winter was 3.30. Among the winter sports teams, 15 had GPAs above 3.50.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution. For cross country student-athletes, they must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions or competed at the conference championship.
