Viking Golfer Tya Seth Named Third Team All-Big Sky Conference

On the eve of the Big Sky Conference Championship Tournament, Portland State's Tya Seth has been named third team All-Big Sky Conference for the 2022-23 season.

Seth, a senior transfer, paced the Vikings throughout the season with a 75.47 scoring average. She led the team in scoring in four of seven stroke-play events and has 55 birdies in 24 competitive rounds.

Seth had a pair of top-five finishes in the fall that included rounds of 68 at the Eagle Invitational and 69 at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic. Her top tournament performance was an even-par 216 and second-place finish at the Eagle Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington.

A graduate of Lake Oswego High School and 2018 Oregon 6A State Champion, Seth originally attended Idaho State University from 2018-22. She was a 2022 third-team All-Big Sky choice for the Bengals and three-time team MVP. She earned two degrees at ISU and is now completing her MBA in Marketing at Portland State.

Seth is the 23rd player in Portland State Golf history (dating to 1997-98) to earn an All-Big Sky Conference honor. Viking players have been named to an All-Big Sky team a total of 44 times.

Seth will lead the Vikings into the 2023 Big Sky Championship Tournament, beginning next Monday at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ.
