Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – The Portland State men's tennis team dropped its third match of the season to Washington 7-0 on Saturday.
The Vikings are now 0-3, while the Huskies remain undefeated at 8-0.
Washington opened the day with three-straight victories in doubles play. Despite losing the point, the Vikings took seven games from the Huskies, four of those coming from
Nils Plutat and
Oliver Richards at the No. 2 spot in their 6-4 loss.
The Vikings were tested in singles action against a talented Washington lineup. Plutat had his hands full at No. 1 against regionally ranked Clement Chidekh who earned a 6-3, 6-1 win. In search of his second-straight win, Richards put up a fight in the three spot against Han-Chih Lin before eventually falling 6-4, 6-2. Washington earned wins in the remaining four spots to complete the sweep.
The Vikings will return to action at home against Pacific (10 a.m.) next Friday. Â
