De Ramos Earns All-Big Sky Honorable Mention

A record-setting year for Krystal de Ramos has earned her an honorable mention from the Big Sky Conference as the league's All-Conference teams were released on Tuesday afternoon. De Ramos scored four goals and had a school-record with a .714 shots-on goal percentage.

The senior started 12 games for the Vikings and led the team in many different categories. She had eight points and 21 shots, 15 of which she put on goal, to pace the offense. Her speed challenged back lines all season and she had some highlight goals in her final year.

She scored the first goal of a halftime comeback against Pacific on Sept. 9. The Vikings trailed 1-0 at halftime, but de Ramos opened the scoring and the Vikings would complete the comeback with game-winning goal from Rilee Castilla.

In the very next match against Grand Canyon, de Ramos scored the fifth-fastest goal in Portland State history. She opened the scoring just 67 seconds into the match on a well-timed run and breakaway goal.

De Ramos also scored against Eastern Washington for her third goal in a five-game stretch that really brought the Viking offense to life headed into the Big Sky Conference schedule.

Her final goal came against Northern Colorado on Senior Day. It leveled the match and at the time gave the Vikings hope of a Big Sky Tournament berth, although they would come up just short in the end.

Portland State finished the year with a 5-10-1 record and a 3-5-1 mark in conference play. The Vikings finished in 7th place, three points away from qualifying for the Big Sky Tournament.

This is the second time de Ramos has earned honorable mention from the Big Sky in her career. She also was recognized following her sophomore season. She scored five goals and also had an assist that year as the Vikings finished one spot away from a tournament appearance that year as well.

De Ramos ends her Viking career with nine goals and five assists. She played in over 60 matches and logged over 3,000 career minutes in a Portland State uniform.
