PORTLAND, Ore.
–  The Portland State women's soccer team fell to Northern Colorado by a score of 1-0 Friday night at Hillsboro Stadium.

The Vikings (6-7-1 overall, 2-1-1 Big Sky) dominated the first half of play but where unable to turn their good looks in the legitimate scoring opportunities. The Vikings out-shot the Bears in the first half, 4-to-2 and 9-to-5 for the game but had several more good looks.

“We created a lot of good chances today,” head coach Laura Schott said following the match. “We just couldn't put one away,”

Northern Colorado (6-7-2, 3-1-0) had only three shots in the second half but got their best look on a corner kick from the far side. Kimmi Feidler drove the ball into the middle of the pack where JJ Wykstra was able to get her head on the ball and put it past the Portland State keeper.

The Vikings now find themselves tied a game back of Weber State in the Big Sky standings after Weber State defeated Montana, 1-0, Thursday night. Portland State now turns its attention to Northern Arizona who comes into Hillsboro Stadium for a 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon kickoff. Northern Arizona played Sacramento State to a, 1-1, draw Friday night.
