GREELEY, Colo. - Portland State traded blows with Northern Colorado to send the match to overtime at a 2-2 deadlock. UNC's Brittany Dunn sealed the deal for the Bears in the 106th minute of play to give Northern Colorado its first ever victory over Portland State, 3-2.
The Bears jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 6th minute and would carry the lead into the locker room at the half. UNC outshot PSU in the first 12-6.
The Vikings came out of the locker room with authority and quickly tied the match 6:16 into the second stanza off a
Kala Renard goal, aimed at the lower right corner of the net for her fourth score of the season.
Two and half minutes later, Olivia Deadmond tallied her first goal of the season to give UNC its second lead, 2-1.
As the clock continued to roll, the Viks continued to push for the equalizer and outshot the Bears, 13-12, in the frame.
Freshman
Eryn Brown received a pass from freshman
Hannah Kimsey and delivered at 80:46 with her third goal of the season, in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper to tie the match at 2-2 and put the Vikings into overtime with Northern Colorado.
