The Portland State Women's Tennis Team has once again excelled academically, earning an All-Academic honor from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for the seventh year in a row. Alongside the team accolade, five members of the Vikings were recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
To receive the All-Academic Team award, teams must maintain a combined GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.00 scale). The Vikings concluded the 2025-26 academic year with an outstanding 3.82 team GPA, ranking second in the department academically.Â
The Vikings receiving individual recognition from the ITA are:Â
Scarlett Perkins (So.),
Nene Uemura (So.),Â
Kasumi Hirayama (So.), Marta Giglio (So.) and Anjola Ige (Fr.). To qualify for this individual award, student-athletes must have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during the academic year.
In addition, five members of the team were named to the Portland State President's List with one named to the Dean's List. The Viking women have also won the Big Sky Conference Team Academic Award for each of the last two seasons. It has yet to be presented for 2025-26.
