The Portland State Vikings Women's Soccer team will open its season with a bang, hosting the Big 12's University of Oregon at Hillsboro Stadium. That match comes on Aug. 13 and is the first of eight home matches in the Vikings' 17-match schedule in 2026.
Â
PSU has a very challenging non-conference schedule as it will play UNLV, California Baptist and San Diego State on the road through the latter half of August.
Â
The Vikings return home to play Nevada on Aug. 30 as they host three of the final four non-conference matches. Those include a Sept. 13 match with Boise State and a Sept 20 date with San Diego. A crosstown match at powerhouse University of Portland is sandwiched in the middle on Sept. 10.
Â
California Baptist, now a member of the Big West Conference, won the Western Athletic Conference last season and competed in the NCAA Tournament. San Diego State and Boise State were powerhouses in the Mountain West Conference last season, with the Broncos going 8-0-2 in league play.
Â
A new-look Big Sky Conference will consist of nine matches in 2026. Sacramento State has left the league with Southern Utah and Utah Tech joining the Big Sky. The odd number of matches will have the Vikings playing four at home and five on the road.
Â
After opening at the aforementioned Utah Tech and Southern Utah (Oct. 1 and 4), PSU will begin Big Sky home matches on Oct. 15 against Weber State, then Idaho State on Oct. 18.
Â
The Vikings play at Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona on Oct. 22 and 25. They return to Hillsboro Stadium for matches against Idaho (Oct. 29) and Eastern Washington (Nov. 1).
Â
The regular season is rounded out with a Nov. 5 match at defending Big Sky Champion Montana.
Â
The Big Sky Conference Tournament runs from Nov. 11-15.
Â
All home matches and Big Sky Conference matches can be seen on ESPN+. All home matches are at Hillsboro Stadium with the exception of Sept. 20 vs. San Diego, which will be played at a site to be determined.
Â
Portland State begins soccer practice on July 29. The Vikings will work out from 8-9 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. each day excluding Mondays leading up the first match. Practices are held at Stott Community Field on the PSU campus.
Â
The Vikings placed fourth in the Big Sky last season with a 3-3-2 record, 4-9-4 overall. Fifteen letterwinners and four redshirts return on the 26-player roster.
