Four members of the Portland State women's tennis team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. The honor marked the first career selection for sophomores Marta Giglio, Nene Uemura and Kasumi Hirayama. Junior Scarlett Perkins rounded out the group, earning recognition for the second straight season.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically and athletically, must have competed in at least 75 percent of their team's matches during the 2026 season and must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

This year's group marked the third in four years the program earned the maximum number of selections allowed. Though the minimum GPA required for the honor is a 3.50, Portland State's honorees each carried above a 3.70 GPA, combining for a 3.82 as a group.

Each Viking appeared in at least 14 of the team's 15 dual matches during the season. Giglio led the team with 11 wins in both singles and doubles play, earning Second Team All-Big Sky honors in singles and first team doubles recognition. Perkins compiled a 7-8 record at the No. 1 singles spot in 2026 while adding a 7-7 mark in doubles play. Uemura and Hirayama each totaled eight doubles wins on the year. Uemura finished 5-9 in singles action, while Hirayama ranked second on the team with nine singles victories.

Uemura earned the honor as a marketing major, Hirayama as a psychology major, Giglio as a science major and Perkins as a finance major.
