The Portland State Women's Golf Team turned in its best season in five years, finishing fourth in the Big Sky Conference Championship in April. The result culminated a season of success for the Vikings. Here are the highlights:
 

• Portland State placed fourth in the Big Sky Conference Championship. It marked the best finish by a Viking team since a third-place finish in 2021…. PSU's final-round 289 was the best team score since a 288 at the Big Sky Championship in 2019… the Vikings shot 296-296-289=881 overall.
• The Vikings had a 301.8 team scoring average which was the best scoring average in the eight years since PSU established a school-record 296.5 in 2017-18. It was the third-best scoring average in school history… the Vikings had a 295.2 scoring average over their last three tournaments.
• PSU had three of the top-15 team scores in school history during the season: 878 at the Jackrabbits Invitational in March (7^th); 881 at the Big Sky Championship in April (11^th); and 886 at the Sun Mountain Intercollegiate in October (14^th).
• The Vikings broke 300 12 times in 27 total rounds. The team had only two such rounds in 2024-25. The last time PSU had more rounds under 300 was the 2017-18 season.
• Cynthia Valerie Ong finished the season as the team scoring leader at 74.81 per round. That ranks ninth-best in program history. Ong, a junior, led the team in scoring four times in nine tournaments. She improved by 2.19 strokes per round over her sophomore season… her final-round 67 at the Big Sky Championship matched the Portland State single-round scoring record (though on a par 71 course, the other five occurrences came on par 72 courses)… Ong's even-par 213 total at the BSC was also a career-best tournament score and placed her seventh overall… Ong led the team with 56 birdies for the season… in her final three tournaments, Ong had a 73.0 scoring average and broke par three times… Ong currently ranks seventh all-time in career scoring average (76.10) at PSU.
• Caithlyn Ong was second on the team in scoring at 76.00 per round. It ranks as the second-best scoring average by a freshman in PSU history… her scoring average was 74.55 over the last three tournaments.
• Newcomer Maddie Dustin posted a 76.18 scoring average and ranked second on the team with 51 birdies. In her final three tournaments she had a 74.0 scoring average.
• Senior Payten Shimizu finished the year with a career-best 76.83 scoring average. Her 96 career rounds rank 11^th all-time at PSU. Shimizu ranks 13^th all-time in career scoring average (77.57). She is eighth all-time in birdies (145).
• Senior Bayler Brundage finished the year with a career-best 77.70 scoring average. It was 75.66 in the final three tournaments. Brundage ranks 10^th all-time in rounds played at PSU (103) and she never missed a tournament in four seasons. Brundage ranks sixth all-time in birdies (162).
• Junior Momo Udom had a career-best 78.16 scoring average… Freshman Francesca Tomp had a scoring average of 78.00.
• The Women's Golf Program has maintained the top GPA in the Portland State Athletics Department with a 3.86 team GPA. Academic honors will not be released until this summer, however six Vikings are on schedule for Academic All-Conference and All-District honors.
