PORTLAND, Ore. — Teagan Colvin – an ESPN Top 100 out of high school – follows Portland State head coach
Karlie Burris from UNLV to the Park Blocks as Colvin signed with the Vikings Thursday.
Burris recruited Colvin – the 81st-ranked player in the nation in ESPN's Top 100 for the 2024 high school class – to UNLV when she was an assistant coach for the Lady Rebels. Colvin appeared in 47 games in her two seasons at UNLV, winning a Mountain West regular-season title with the Lady Rebels as a freshman in 2024-25. She started nine games as a sophomore at UNLV when she averaged 2.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists over 15.1 minutes per game.
"I have known Teagan and her family for a long time, so this is a full circle moment," Burris said of adding Colvin to her Portland State roster. "She is the ultimate competitor. She's an old school point guard who can create for herself and her teammates. Her leadership and work ethic will elevate the program immediately. We are so excited that she is a Viking."
In addition to her ESPN Top 100 ranking, Colvin was also ranked in the Wootten Top 150 and John Lucas Top 160 out of high school. She earned the rankings as a two-time state 5A champion with Coeur d'Alene High School in Idaho. She was also a two-time state tournament MVP, a two-time MaxPreps Player of the Year in Idaho, and a four-time first-team all-state honoree. Her accolades earned her nominations for both McDonalds All-American and Gatorade State Player of the Year honors.
Colvin was also an accomplished player on the club circuit. Playing for the Northwest Blazers, Colvin was one of the top five shooters on the Girls Under Armour Association (UAA) circuit, making 57 percent of her field goals in 2022. She earned UAA first-team honors that year while leading her team to a third-place finish. She was also selected to the UAA Circuit Future 60 camp, which welcomed the best prospects to the IMG Academy to participate in on-court instruction, skill development and competition in addition to a variety of off-court training sessions.
