Box Score BEAVERTON, Ore. – The Portland State men's tennis team picked up its fourth sweep of the season Friday, defeating Lewis & Clark 7-0 at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center.
The win improved the Vikings' overall record to 5-9. The match was played as an exhibition for the River Otters.
The Vikings controlled play in both doubles and singles. They secured the opening point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, as Edoardo Cravanzola and Maas Schotanus earned a 6-3 win at the top spot, while Luke Lu and Luca Prino cruised to a 6-1 victory at line three.
Portland State followed with six straight-set wins in singles to complete the sweep. Aarjun Pandit defeated Noah Sutin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, and Schotanus topped Kai Wills 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2. Prino rounded out the top three with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Wade McDermott. Cravanzola beat Spencer Loucks 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4, Ignacio Ruiz defeated Bridger Galyardt 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5, and Hampus Hagglund closed out the sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Max Furman at No. 6.
The Vikings return to action Sunday against Montana at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center (10 a.m.).
