Litchfield, AZ – The Portland State Women's Golf Team is in 12^th place after day one of the Bowling Green Intercollegiate Tournament, the Vikings' first event of the spring season, played at Wigwam Golf Resort.
 
The Vikings shot 310-306=616 over two rounds on the Wigwam Blue Course. UTEP leads after day one with an even-par 282-286=568 team total. UT-Arlington is in second place among 15 teams at 575. The final round of the tournament takes place on Wednesday.
 
Senior Bayler Brundage got off to a solid start for the Vikings with three birdies and a 74 in the opening round. Sophomore Maddie Dustin highlighted the round with a hole-out eagle 2 on the 394-yard sixth hole.
 
Cynthia Valerie Ong, a junior, matched Brundage's score in round two with a 74. She is currently 37^th with a 78-74=152 total.
 
Brundage is in 53^rd place among 84 players. She posted 74-81=155. Dustin and senior Payten Shimizu each shot 156 and are tied for 56^th. Junior Momo Udom is 68^th at 81-78=159.
 
Atikan Cherdchoo of UTEP leads the tournament with a three-under par 68-71=139. Two are tied at 140 and two others at 141.
