PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State women's tennis team returns to action this weekend, traveling to Tacoma, Wash., to face Puget Sound on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The match will be the Vikings' second of the 2026 season and their second on the road. Portland State and the Loggers are set to begin at 11 a.m. at the UPS Tennis Pavilion.
Saturday's matchup will mark just the second meeting between the two programs, with the first coming back in 1996 when the Vikings fell 7-2 in Tacoma. Portland State will look for its first win of the season, along with newly appointed head coach Mike Mucci's first victory at the helm. The Vikings aim to bounce back after opening the year at Oregon two weeks ago, where the Ducks earned a 7-0 win in Eugene. Junior
Scarlett Perkins highlighted singles play for PSU, pushing Oregon's Tilde Jägare to three sets before falling 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6) in her debut at the No. 1 singles spot.
