Bozeman, MT – Portland State completed its first tournament of the 2025-26 season, placing ninth at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate at Riverside Country Club. Host Montana State won its own tournament with ease, 15 shots ahead of second-place CSUN.
The Vikings recorded rounds of 299-304-301=904 in the tournament. It was a solid start to the season as PSU's 301.3 scoring average is six shots better than last year's full season average.
Sophomore
Maddie Dustin was the top finisher for the Vikings, shooting 72-72-77=221 to place in a tie for 22nd. It was her first tournament since transferring to PSU.
One stroke behind her was junior
Cynthia Valerie Ong, who shot 72-77-73, with the team's best round on Tuesday. She placed 24
th among 66 golfers.

Montana State finished at 16-under par as a team with scores of 282-285-281=848. CSUN was one-under par with 289-286-288=863.
Eva Heinz of MSU was the individual champion, posting a nine-under par score of 62-73-72=207.
