PORTLAND, Ore. — The intra-city clash between the Portland State women's basketball team and rival University of Portland – scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 21, at Viking Pavilion – will serve the city in more ways than one.

Basketball fans will certainly love the rivalry game. But the greater Portland community will also benefit as the Lillard Foundation partners with the Portland State University Foundation and Portland State Athletics to collect canned goods for the Smallwood Food Pantry.

Fans who bring three non-perishable food items to the game will receive a ticket to a future Portland State women's basketball game.

A donation bin has been set up at the main entrance of Viking Pavilion in advance of the game and is already accepting donations. An additional donation bin has been placed at Millar Library on campus.

The game against Portland will double as Family Day for the Vikings. Adults who buy a general admission ticket will get a youth ticket (12 and under) for free. Anyone who purchases the package will receive Rose City Santa hats. All package sales will be made at the ticket window the day of the game.

Tipoff for the game is at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m.
