FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Portland State women's soccer team secured its second consecutive victory and third straight shutout on Friday evening, defeating Northern Arizona 1-0 at Lumberjack Stadium.
The Vikings improved to 4-6-4, while the Lumberjacks fell to 2-7-4. The win also marked the Vikings' first-ever victory at Lumberjack Stadium.Â
Elle Frazier scored the game-winning goal just four minutes into the match, converting on Portland State's first shot attempt of the evening. Despite recording 24 shots, including 16 in the second half, the Lumberjacks were unable to find the equalizer. Portland State goalkeeper Eden Millan notched her fourth shutout of the season, making five saves in the win.Â
The Vikings recorded nine shots in the match, their lowest total in conference play this year, but an impressive six of those were on target. Frazier, Aliayha Saldana and Kalo Iongi combined for six of those shots.Â
Portland State will be back in action this Sunday as they face the Montana Grizzlies in Missoula. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. MT.
