Vikings Concede Early Goal in 1-0 Loss to Idaho State

After an impressive win over Weber State Thursday, the Portland State Vikings were unable to make it double when they fell 1-0 to Idaho State Sunday at Hillsboro Stadium.

Not even three minutes into the first half, at 2:51, the Bengals slid one by Vikings goalkeeper Finley Crabtree, marking the fastest goal the Vikings have conceded since their match against Sacramento State on Oct. 27, 2024. Shots in the first half were kept relatively even, with the Bengals leading 8-7 and Crabtree keeping it a one-goal game.

The action stayed high in the second half, with Idaho State recording nine more shots and Portland State notching seven. Despite valiant efforts from forward Elle Frazier and midfielder Grace Sarabia, the Bengals did not back down, finishing the game with a 1-0 score.

The Vikings next take on Northern Colorado on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT.
