FARMINGTON, Utah - Portland State women's soccer senior Raniyah Burton was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
The 5'2 forward scored three goals and notched one assist (7 points) over the weekend, leading the Vikings to road victories over UC Riverside and CSUN.
She recorded her first career brace against the Highlanders on Friday, netting the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute before adding another in the 85th. Burton's goals were scored 1 minute and 39 seconds apart, the second-fastest consecutive goals scored by an individual in program history.
The Richmond, Calif. native and 2022 All-Big Sky selection finished the weekend with both an assist and a goal against CSUN on Sunday.
Burton and the Vikings will open conference action this Friday, Sept 22 against Northern Colorado at Hillsboro Stadium (6:00 p.m.).
