The Vikings improved to 2-1 on the season while the Redhawks dropped to 1-2. Â

PSU earned the opening point with a pair of doubles wins over Seattle.
Masha Ponomareva and
Capu Sanoner improved to 2-0 on the year with a 6-4 win over Lilya Dimova and Elena Kraleva at the No. 1 spot. Meanwhile,
Elizabeth Strongina and
Makoto Ohara rallied to a 6-4 win on court three to clinch the doubles point for the Vikings.

Four singles wins from
Nell Arendt,
Emily Rees,
Makoto Ohara and
Maddie Egan secured the win for the Vikings. Egan earned the only 0-0 sweep of the afternoon for the Vikings, downing Shuanghui Huang 6-0, 6-0 in the six spot. Rees' 6-3, 6-1 victory over Jade Quintana officially clinched the dual for Portland State.Â
"Seattle is a great team and has gotten better every year," head coach
Kyle Russell said. "Their coach has done a great job with their program and today was a tough and competitive match. We're excited to finish the weekend with a win."
